As a wedding photographer based in Knoxville, Tennessee, I’ve had the privilege of capturing some truly unforgettable moments. Each year brings exciting new trends that help couples tell their stories in creative and beautiful ways. As we step into 2025, I’m already seeing some exciting wedding trends that I can’t wait to capture. From dramatic drapery to unique florals, these trends are adding a fresh, stunning touch to weddings. Let me walk you through some of the trends I’m loving this year.

Dramatic Drapery: A Touch of Elegance

Drapery is one of the most luxurious elements in wedding decor, and I’m thrilled to see it making a major comeback in 2025. It adds an air of timeless elegance and grandeur. Draped fabric can transform a venue, turning any space into a glamorous wonderland. Whether it’s a ceiling draped in rich fabrics or an art-inspired installation, the texture and depth of drapery elevate the atmosphere. It creates breathtaking backdrops for photos.

Bold Color Palettes: Making a Statement

In the past, I’ve leaned toward neutral color palettes for weddings, as they offer a classic, timeless feel. Plus, from a photographer’s perspective, neutral tones help create a cohesive and elegant feed for social media and home prints. However, in 2025, I’m loving the shift toward bold, vibrant color palettes. This year, couples are embracing rich hues that reflect their personalities and create striking contrast. These vibrant tones not only make a statement in the wedding design but also provide an unforgettable visual experience. This is especially true when captured in photos.

Aesthetic Dress Codes: Personal Style on Full Display

One trend I’m especially excited about is the aesthetic dress code. It’s incredible to see guests embrace the unique style of a couple, and it creates such a harmonious vibe at the wedding. Couples who implement a dress code tend to have more cohesive galleries. This is because everyone’s outfits are in sync, making the photos feel unified and well-curated. There’s something special about seeing personalities shine through in the clothing choices of loved ones. Whether it’s a formal black-tie affair or a more casual boho vibe, an aesthetic dress code makes a significant difference. It enhances the overall feel of the event.

Serpentine Tablescapes: Unique Elegance

One of the most exciting wedding trends of 2025 is serpentine tables. These curved, flowing tables are unlike anything I’ve seen in past weddings, and they are truly a photographer’s dream. Imagine a reception hall filled with tables that wind and twist like an elegant ribbon. This creates a visually stunning and unique atmosphere. Serpentine tables work beautifully in both natural settings, like an outdoor meadow. They also work in sophisticated venues, like a museum or gallery. The shape adds a dynamic flow to the space and offers endless possibilities for beautiful overhead shots. This is especially true with a drone!

Unique Florals: Fresh and Unexpected Blooms

Flowers are always an essential part of a wedding, and this year’s floral trends are all about choosing blooms that add texture and surprise. One flower I’m loving is the anthurium. With its distinct, heart-shaped petals, it pairs perfectly with other flowers for a unique and striking bridal bouquet. If you’re dreaming of a cascading bouquet, amaranthus could be a beautiful choice. It adds length and movement. For aisle arrangements, delphinium (also known as larkspur) is a great option. Its tall, sturdy stems create structure in any floral setup. The variety of colors—blue, pink, white, and purple—allows for customization. Chrysanthemums, which are similar to dahlias, also offer a beautiful, petal-packed look. They are more affordable and easier to find.

While I haven’t had the chance to photograph all of these 2025 wedding trends yet, I’m eager to capture them in the upcoming wedding season. If any of these trends resonate with your style and you’re looking for a photographer who’s excited to embrace them, I would love to be considered for your special day.
