If you’re planning a wedding and dreaming of mountain views, charming venues, and a peaceful atmosphere, let me introduce you to Townsend, Tennessee. Known as the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies,” this small town is one of my favorite spots for capturing weddings. It’s quiet, scenic, and packed with Southern charm.

As a Townsend wedding photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing love stories here and each one feels like a dream. Whether you’re looking for a rustic barn, a luxury lodge, or an intimate mountaintop setting, Townsend has it all.

Let’s explore some of the most beautiful wedding venues in Townsend, Tennessee, along with tips on where to stay, where to eat, and why this hidden gem is so special. If you’re interested in a more comprehensive list of my favorite venues in the Smokies, check out my blog post on the topic.

1. The Barn Event Center of the Smokies

Aesthetic: European-style barn with gardens and mountain views
Cost: Packages start around $4,000
Capacity: Up to 200 guests
Indoor/Outdoor Options: Both available
What’s Included: Tables, chairs, setup/cleanup, bridal suite, decor rentals

The Barn Event Center is one of the most well-known wedding venues in Townsend, Tennessee. It blends rustic charm with a bit of elegance. The gardens bloom beautifully in spring and fall, making them ideal for portraits. Inside, the warm wooden interiors offer cozy lighting and old-world charm.

As a Townsend photographer, I love how the sun sets behind the mountains here — creating golden hour magic you can’t replicate anywhere else.

2. Dancing Bear Lodge

Aesthetic: Luxury mountain retreat
Cost: Starting around $6,500 for full-day rentals
Capacity: 100-200 guests comfortably depending on location
Indoor/Outdoor Options: Outdoor ceremony, indoor reception
What’s Included: On-site catering, planning services, lodging discounts, tables, chairs

Dancing Bear Lodge offers both the feel of a mountain escape and the elegance of a boutique resort. You can say “I do” beneath tall trees and twinkle lights, then enjoy a chef-crafted meal with your guests.

With cabins onsite, your closest family and friends can stay steps from your celebration. It’s the perfect setting for a wedding weekend.

3. The Lily Barn

Aesthetic: Flower gardens, rustic barn, mountain backdrop
Cost: $5,000–$7,000 range for full weekend
Capacity: Up to 150 guests
Indoor/Outdoor Options: Outdoor ceremonies, covered reception
What’s Included: Three-day venue access, decor options, tables/chairs, dressing areas

The Lily Barn is stunning in every season. Imagine exchanging vows beside a koi pond, with lilies in bloom around you. Then dancing the night away under string lights in their rustic pavilion.

I love how this venue allows plenty of time for setup and portraits. It’s one of the most relaxed wedding experiences you can have in Townsend, Tennessee.

4. Cooper’s Cove at Heritage Park

Aesthetic: Elegant barn with lush landscaping

Capacity: Up to 200 guests

What’s Included: Full access to the barn and bridal suite, tables/chairs, outdoor patio

Cooper’s Cove gives you a gorgeous barn-style venue without sacrificing comfort or space. The ceremony lawn faces the Smoky Mountains, which makes every photo breathtaking.

The venue is flexible and customizable, which I love. Whether you’re going for simple or glam, this space works beautifully.
