Fall Family Session at Melton Hill Park in Knoxville, Tn

There’s something truly magical about fall in East Tennessee. The air feels crisp, the colors are vibrant, and golden light filters through the trees in the most beautiful way. As a Knoxville family photographer, it’s one of my favorite times to capture families and expecting parents. This recent maternity session at Melton Hill Park was extra special because the couple in the photos are dear friends of mine. They’ll be welcoming their baby girl soon, and I couldn’t be more excited for them.

Melton Hill Park is such a gem for photography in Knoxville. It offers a little bit of everything: open fields, wooded trails, and views of the river that glow at sunset. In the fall, the colors reflect beautifully on the water, creating the perfect backdrop for soft, natural images. We spent the evening walking through the tall grass, chasing light, and capturing quiet moments of connection between soon-to-be parents.

What I love most about photographing maternity sessions is the mix of anticipation and tenderness. There’s a calmness that surrounds parents waiting to meet their baby, and it’s something I always try to preserve in their photos. With these two, that feeling was effortless.

Motherhood changed the way I see photography. Before I became a mom, I focused on the technical side of things — composition, light, timing. After my children were born, I started noticing the smaller, more meaningful details. The way a mother’s hand rests on her belly. The look a partner gives when they realize their life is about to change forever. These fleeting moments tell the real story. They’re what make family photography so powerful to me.

Being a Knoxville maternity photographer allows me to capture families as they grow and change. It’s not just about creating pretty photos, it’s about documenting love in all its forms. Whether it’s the quiet connection between parents, a child’s laugh, or a tender moment between siblings, these memories matter. I approach every session with the same intention: to create timeless, true-to-color images, that feel like home.

If you’re looking for photography in Knoxville that captures emotion, connection, and authenticity, I would love to work with you. My sessions are relaxed and natural, allowing your family to be fully present. You won’t have to worry about perfect poses or forced smiles. I’ll guide you gently while letting real moments unfold.
