Hi there! I’m Hayley Howard, a Knoxville-based family and wedding photographer. Whether you’re planning a romantic shoot, a milestone session, or a fun date night adventure, photography in Knoxville TN is the perfect way to celebrate life’s sweetest moments.
In this blog, I’ll share why you should book your next session with me, how to turn your shoot into a full Knoxville experience, and my favorite places to eat, stay, and explore.
Knoxville is more than my workplace — it’s my home. I know the best lighting, hidden gems, and quiet spots that make each session feel personal and relaxed.
I bring a calm, connection-focused approach to every shoot. I’m not just here to snap photos — I’m here to document emotion, energy, and love in its truest form. Whether we’re chasing toddlers in the park or capturing intimate wedding vows, I make space for real life to unfold.
I specialize in family, maternity, couples, and wedding photography. My style is natural, true-to-color, and full of feeling. I want your photos to look how the moment felt. Check out my website to learn more about working with me.
Why not make a full experience out of your session? After all, you’re dressed up, already feeling the connection, and the day is all about you.
Here’s how to turn your photo shoot into a memorable night out in Knoxville:
Book your session around sunset. Knoxville glows during golden hour, and the light is just perfect. I’ll meet you downtown, in a garden, or by the river — whatever matches your vibe.
After your session, head to Radius Rooftop Lounge. It’s located on top of the Embassy Suites in downtown Knoxville. Sip a craft cocktail while watching the sun dip behind the Smoky Mountains.
My favorite spot? Chivo Taqueria. It’s moody, vibey, and full of flavor. Their birria tacos and creative margaritas are the best in town.
For something a little more elevated, book a table at Oliver Royale. Located right on Market Square, it’s a great spot for a romantic, modern American dinner.
Walk a block or two and grab a cone from Cruze Farm or Phoenix Pharmacy. You deserve a sweet treat after your photo session (and maybe a little dancing under the Market Square lights).
If you’re traveling in for your session — or just want a local staycation — Knoxville has some dreamy boutique hotels. Here are my top recommendations:
Luxury with Southern charm. Steps from World’s Fair Park.
Average rate: $280–$350/night
Perfect for couples who want elegance and comfort.
A newer boutique hotel with European vibes. It’s chic, walkable, and located right in the Old City.
Average rate: $200–$275/night
Great for a trendy, artsy weekend away.
Modern, clean, and right in the action.
Average rate: $160–$200/night
A budget-friendly option that still feels stylish and comfortable.
Book early if you’re planning a weekend or fall session — rooms go fast, especially during UT football season.
Knoxville is full of character and natural beauty. I’ve photographed all over East Tennessee, and these are some of my favorite locations:
Great for urban couples or lifestyle family sessions.
There’s color, texture, art murals, and a mix of modern and historic backdrops. Market Square, the Old City, and Krutch Park are all photo gold.
A dream for adventurous families or earthy engagement sessions.
Think trails, wildflowers, boardwalks, and even rock walls. It’s gorgeous in every season.
Quiet, open, and peaceful.
This park has stunning lake views, open fields, and wooded areas — perfect for families and maternity sessions.
Historic charm in the heart of the city.
This antebellum home features stunning gardens, stone paths, and Southern architecture. It’s ideal for elegant engagement or bridal shoots.
Wide open fields, soft light, and foggy mornings.
This is one of the most magical places near Knoxville for sunrise sessions. I love it for couples and solo maternity.
Lush, peaceful, and versatile.
From stone cottages to flower-filled paths, this spot offers something year-round. Bonus: It’s free and usually uncrowded.
