If you’re dreaming of a wild, breathtakingly beautiful elopement, Grand Teton National Park should be at the top of your list. The rugged peaks, clear alpine lakes, and sweeping meadows offer a once-in-a-lifetime backdrop for saying “I do.”
As an elopement photographer, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful places. But there’s something about the Tetons that feels magical. The moment you step foot here, you’re surrounded by nature’s grandeur. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and soak it all in.
Let’s talk about what makes Grand Teton National Park the perfect elopement location, and how to make it happen.
One of the best things about eloping here? The arrival. You’ll fly into Jackson Hole Airport, which is actually located inside the national park. It’s the only commercial airport in a U.S. national park, and the views as you descend are unreal.
You’re not greeted by terminals and city streets — you’re welcomed by snow-capped mountains. The jagged Tetons rise dramatically in the distance, and it’s instantly clear: you’ve arrived somewhere extraordinary.
This park offers everything couples love about the outdoors, without the overwhelming crowds of other major parks. It’s peaceful, scenic, and wildly romantic. The landscapes are diverse: towering mountains, calm lakes, aspen forests, and open fields filled with wildflowers or snow depending on the season.
Everywhere you turn is a photo opportunity. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and intimacy.
To legally elope in the park, you need a Special Use Permit from the National Park Service.
The process is pretty simple:
You’ll need to choose an approved ceremony location. The NPS has a list of designated spots where ceremonies are allowed. If you have a specific vision, I can help you pick the best one based on your style and season. Remember, elopements here are meant to stay small and leave no trace. Most areas allow a maximum of 25 guests. Both Reserved and Small Dispersed Permits are limited to one hour maximum and must be defined with a start and end time. This time includes the arrival for set-up and ending time to including photos or video at the ceremony location.

Here are a few of my favorite ceremony spots:
Schwabacher Landing
This is a photographer’s dream. The calm river reflects the Tetons like a mirror. It’s especially magical at sunrise or sunset.
Mormon Row
This spot features iconic barns with the Tetons in the background. It’s rustic, historic, and full of Western charm.
Jenny Lake
If you love alpine lakes, this one is for you. You can hike around it or take a boat shuttle across to Inspiration Point. Either way, the views are epic.
Snake River Overlook
A sweeping vista that Ansel Adams made famous. The river curves below the Tetons, and the lighting is often soft and golden.
Each of these spots has its own unique vibe. We’ll work together to choose the one that best fits your love story.
Jackson Hole is the town just south of the park, and it’s full of Western charm. Think cozy lodges, art galleries, and amazing restaurants.
One of my favorite places to stay is The Cloudveil Autograph Collection, located right on the historic town square. The design is modern but warm, and the views are incredible. It’s perfect for getting ready photos and a celebratory post-ceremony dinner. My husband and I stayed there the last time we were in Jackson Hole. It’s a little pricey, but worth it!
Some of my favorite bars and restaurants in the area include:
Eloping doesn’t have to be just one day. Make it an adventure!
Rent a Razor and Explore
Go off-roading in the Bridger-Teton National Forest or nearby trails. You’ll find wildflowers, hidden lakes, and panoramic views. Be careful though. You don’t have much cell service, if any, on most of the trails, and grizzly bears and other wildlife are out there with you.
Go Hiking
Jenny Lake is one of the most popular hiking spots — and for good reason. The hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point is short, scenic, and filled with photo-worthy views.
Take a Scenic Float Trip
Float the Snake River and enjoy the peace of the water and the towering mountains above.
Wildlife Watching
Keep an eye out for moose, elk, and maybe even a bear or two. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to spot them.
Whether you’re adrenaline junkies or slow-living lovers, there’s something here for you.
I do more than take pictures — I help you create an intentional, meaningful experience. I’ll scout the perfect spot, help with timeline planning, and capture every moment with care.
I know how to work in different weather and lighting conditions, and I roll with the punches. I know how to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, even if you’re not usually “photo people.”
This is your story. My job is to help you live it fully and remember it beautifully.
Eloping in Grand Teton National Park is about more than just beautiful photos. It’s about starting your marriage with intention and adventure.
It’s about standing together beneath the peaks and promising forever in a place that reflects the wild beauty of your love.
If that sounds like the elopement you’ve been dreaming of — I’d love to be a part of it.
Let’s plan something unforgettable.
